Opportunity Just Ahead!

More bad news in the paper recently with the layoff of 300 more at Wal-Mart's corporate offices in nearby Bentonville. My heart goes out to those who are forced to find new jobs in this terrible economy. But sometimes a crisis can be turned into an opportunity. When faced with a crisis we are forced to get out of our "comfort zone."

Tony Robbins has directly impacted the lives of more than 50 million people with his desire to help individuals transform the quality of their lives. His unique outlook has earned him titles such as “Top 50 Business Intellectuals in the World” by Harvard Business Press and by the International Chamber of Commerce as one of the top 10 “Outstanding People of World.” His common sense approach to finding opportunities in our life is amazingly simple...

Most likely you won't see a big sign like the one above saying "Opportunity." The world is full of people who have came up with the NEXT BEST THING using their noodle!

Observe the world around you and listen. Be curious and notice what’s happening, you just might stumble onto an opportunity. If you walk along the road of life with your eyes looking at the ground, you're gonna miss out on some amazing opportunities!

Take an active role in life, don’t just sit on the sidelines. Talk to people and find out about their lives. Create personal connections and see what springs from them. If it's nothing more than friendship, then count yourself lucky to have them on your side!

Don't get set in your ways. Walk home from work a different way. Talk to someone on the bus. Ask your dry cleaner what he thinks about global warming.

“If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always got” so try new things and see what happens.

Don’t wait for opportunities - Expect them, but don’t count on them. Do the hard work and the opportunities will find you!

The pessimist sees problems around every corner so doesn’t recognize opportunity even if it's staring him in the face. The optimist sees potential in everything. Have a state of mind that constantly seeks out opportunity.

Don’t give up!
Some people give up when opportunity is just around the corner.
Hang in there!

  1. I can't imagine a WalMart closing! They just built one in the town where I live. That is sad to hear of all of the job losses! I wish them luck in finding jobs!

  2. I could have written this myself girl - I couldn't agree with you more.

Life is tough - just hold a little flicker of hope - and keep on truckin. Look for opportunities.

My husband is out of work since October.

    Love Allison Krause(spelling).

I think we think a lot alike - poor Joyce.

  3. Times are tough and likely to get tougher. My husband has been out of work since April 2009. He's on extended unemployment benefits now but they run out at the end of this month. This year has been an exercise in faith and the exercise continues. But the hardships in life tend to make the good times even sweeter. This year has catapulted us from merely being frugal to all out passionate prepping. I even became a blogger!

I have learned so much and when times finally get better, I will continue to benefit from what I've learned.
