Sometimes I just don't know what sounds good for dinner, do you ever get like that? Food Network has been my go to for ideas for a long time. I watch Ina or Paula, Alton Brown or Anne Burrell and get inspired to try something new. Food Network has changed how we think about cooking. With Emeril's first show we realized it wasn't all about the recipe, it was entertainment, pure and simple. We laughed at his jokes and in no time at all we were saying "Bam!" All of a sudden we realized we needed new knives or cookware, the old stuff just wouldn't do anymore! Then along came Paula Deen, like that friend next door who shared favorite recipes.... the ones that are soooo good, and so bad for you. I wasn't the only one that was watching Food Network, it grew and it thrived. Ratings went through the roof. The other cable networks fought back with versions of their own to pull viewers in. Andrew Zimmerman ate every bug or reptile known to mankind, Gordon Ramsey showed us what really happens in restaurant kitchens and  then along came "The Cake Boss." He single-handedly has opened a whole can of worms. There are countless shows that revolve around cake... in particular cupcakes. Cupcake Wars and DC Cupcakes and Cupcake Sisters, Martha Stewart even wrote a whole cookbook about cupcakes, 175 recipes for the lowly cupcake that honestly used to be a stepsister to birthday cake!

Now Pinterest has joined the party with thousands of pins...

But you need the recipe, right? Go over to The Stefan Sisters for 33 different ways to impress your guests....  showstopping cupcakes!
