My mom was somewhat superstitious.

I like BEP's and we have them every New Year. Ours is that a dark haired man must be the first across the threshold on January 1st, and he must be given a drink. We'll have to enlist our future SIL to come over and 'first foot' at our place.Pondsidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02407539138546412482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466688981552322075.post-2873542997926674152011-12-30T16:02:44.914-06:002011-12-30T16:02:44.914-06:00Oh man, now when I make the black eyed peas all I&...Oh man, now when I make the black eyed peas all I'm going to think is that they taste like dirt!!Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14436557172029575513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8466688981552322075.post-4887127649320509102011-12-30T14:47:25.864-06:002011-12-30T14:47:25.864-06:00I always tend to leave some of the ingredients out...I always tend to leave some of the ingredients out of the recipe for a Happy New Year and screw up the whole thing! We were always told not to sweep or do laundry on New Year's Day as you would sweep somene from your family, or wash away your luck. Also a man wss suppose to be the first vistor to enter your door. I am not sure what that one meant, but as long as my Daddy was alive, he would come over early and make sure he was he first to enter. I am sorry but I can't force myself to eat peas. But I do eat greens. Hoping you and your family have a blessed , happy and propersous New Year.
AngelaAngelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17994753291659176298noreply@blogger.com
