Just Do It

My to~do list is a mile long, I honestly don't think I will ever get all of it done. Every year about this time I get a spurt of enthusiasm and have grand plans to clean the windows, straighten up the closets, wash down the baseboards, get every last cobweb, take all the rugs out and air them, go over every dusty surface and put out all the patio furniture.

Then that starts me on the outside stuff...clean and plant the flowerbeds, start the seedlings in trays, power wash the decks, blow off the patios, move the plants out of the garage, uncover the grills and then that starts me thinking about what to cook.

Then I spend the next two hours looking through all the great recipes I've been collecting all winter for grilling, so I never get anything finished.

I guess the best thing to do is...

  1. Oh yes, starting is a good first step, lol!

I've been doing all that you just listed for the past 6 weeks in preparation for putting our house on the market. Huge job, but I'm so proud of myself and everything looks wonderful and uncluttered.

  2. oh I just love those funny vintage cards! My new motto - DO IT NOW. When I think of something - I just do it immediately. I can't get over how much better it feels to just do it, and not have it hanging over your head. We always make the mistake that we'll have more time later, and we won't! Have a great day girl!

  3. Getting started is the hardest part for me. Once I start, I'm good to go though.

  8. This time of year when I think of all I need to get done; I just panic!

Then I just pick what needs my attention first and do one thing at a time, trying not to think of all that is waiting for me.

    Eventually it gets done............

Today's project is the back porch!
