I'm Bored!

The GRANDson's will be coming to visit soon and we are getting revved up for the summer! Lot's to do in preparation...blow up ski tubes, stock up on junk food and put up the twinkly patio lights!

We are looking forward to our favorite time of the year, when we have them here to spoil a little bit!

If they stay long enough I'm sure to hear those dreaded words, "I'm bored!"
So I've been saving ideas for projects. Google "I'm Bored" and see just how many great sites are out there with fun ideas that will keep your kids learning all summer!
Look what I found at Inside Urban Green...

Self-watering planters and the best part... they're free! Made from recycled plastic sodapop bottles, they are both functional and educational. You can see exactly how sub-irrigation (capillary action) works as well as the status of the soil and root system! For full directions click HERE.
I think it will be fun to plant a little garden in these for the decks.

Don't tell the deer we are doing this...
it will be our secret!

  2. Good Morning Joycee, What a great idea those self watering planters are! I'm going to pass this along to my Grandkids up in Canada...they LOVE to be busy as they don't watch TV. Thanks for passing this along. Have fun with the Grandkids! Take care...Maura :)

  3. Have fun with the grands. I'm in Little Rock this week helping out with Lucy. I do love babies, but I also think they're more fun when they get old enough to do projects with. Have a great day!

  4. Yeah, my kids also the same when they spend their holiday with their grandparents. They'll say bored on the 3rd day. So be very prepared! hehe... Hope you're having a wonderful time with your grandchildren.
    Blessings, Kristy

What fun the Grands will have "roughing it" at your house. I promise not to eat much?
