I saw on Twitter the other day a Test that would help you determine what kind of diner food you were. I wasn't too surprised to find out I'm Meatloaf...
You Are Meatloaf
You are old fashioned and traditional. In fact, you'd go as far as to call yourself retro. You have a strong appreciation for the classics, especially forgotten classics. Why try to invent the wheel? You prefer well established restaurants with menus that don't change. An old diner is right up your alley. You're also the type most likely to always order the same thing. Why mess with perfection?
1.What do you look for in a diner?
Waiters and waitresses with a bit of attitude
Great songs on the jukebox
That it's open 24 hours
A quirky feel
A hearty menu
An authentic feel
2.What's your favorite diner side?
Mashed potatoes
Onion rings
A salad
Fruit
French fries
Hash browns
3.When you go out to eat, you order:
Something random
The same thing every time
Something simple
Something light
Something fun
Something filling
4.No diner is complete without pie. What kind of pie would you like?
Key lime pie
Chocolate silk pie
Cream pie
Cherry pie
Apple pie
Blueberry pie
5.You prefer to eat:
Any weird combo of things you're craving
Comfort food
Crazy meals you cook up for yourself
Anything that's handed to you
With a big group of friends
Food that's easy to cook
Go check it out!

Just in case this has made you hungry, here's my Cousin Avo's recipe from the Risley Family Cookbook for a moist, delicious meatloaf!
Avo's Meatloaf
3/4 cup applesauce
2 teaspoons salt
2 pounds ground chuck
1 cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoons minced onion
1 cup milk
Combine ingredients together. Form into a loaf and place in a baking dish. Place in a larger casserole and pour water into the bottom (this keeps the meatloaf moist). Bake at 400 degrees for 1 hour.
* If desired you can top with 1 tsp. mustard, 2 T. brown sugar and 1/4 cup ketchup. Combine and pour on top of meat before baking.

ReplyDeleteJoycee, I didn't take the test because I already know the answer. I would be all of them.
ReplyDeleteAvo was my Dad's first cousin, and a wonderful cook! This meatloaf is just delicious...the applesauce keeps it very moist!
