La-La Land

I woke up this morning and realized I've been fooling myself. Last week when we were having a blizzard I was inside pretending that winter was almost over. I re-did the blog in shades of spring green, posted some spring-like pictures and even did a post with summer pictures. Something about being dressed in my warmest sweats, double socks and having the fireplace going made me forget that it's only February.

Winter in Arkansas likes to fool us, she's got some more tricks up her sleeve! February is a rollercoaster here, with days in the 70's or O. One day you can get out and see where the jonquils are trying to peep out of the ground and the next day they are covered with snow.

It's so unpredictable that we sometimes run around for days without washing our cars, cause another one's coming... what's the use?

Not that Winter isn't beautiful, frosting each branch like white icing....

It's just that I was kind of in the mood for something green and yellow.

I guess I'll just have to settle for white, the weatherman said we have snow in the forecast today and Monday and Tuesday too. Yep, she's not done with us yet !

  1. Up here the weather is the same; very unpredictable. I can remember a very deep snow in March one year.

    The jonquils do looks scrumptious!

  3. The snow looks so pretty in photos but I don't want to live with it.
We have a lot of evergreen trees here so your green background is just fine. I too will pretend it is spring.

  4. Come to think of it, didn't the wintry blast come back right after you posted your new Springtime makeover? Maybe it's like washing your car will cause it to rain ...re-doing your blog in Spring motif brought back the snow!

It's all good. Now that I have water flowing in the house again, I'm enjoying the weather even if it's cold.

  7. You have captured some exquisite pics, Joy! So love the elegance of the beautiful white fluffy snow ... kissing the trees & accenting the earth. AND, beneath it all is that gorgeous yellow & green just waiting for its nourishing to be complete, so they can poke wee heads thru ...

    Have a beatuiful week ~

  8. Beautiful pictures. I love La La land too! It's a pleasure to see the snow. We don't have any snow here. California sunshine here. Enjoy your day! I am your newest follower too! I would be delighted if you followed me back. Come by and say hello...Linda

  9. We have the same forecast here in Southern IN. But this afternoon it was thirty-eight degrees and we got out and took Chelsea for a three mile walk on the rails to trails. My feet were soaking wet when we got done, but it felt so good to get out and walk. Chelsea and I walked two miles last night, too. Hang in there and we'll get through it! XO, Cheryl

  10. The Nat'l Weather Service says we may get 10 more inches later this week. I love snow but we've had enough for now. I'm praying the Weather Service is wrong!

  11. Love your new designs but the font is driving me crazy... just saying. But I know of what you speak about winter, etc. Last week, our daily temps were in the mid 50s then for ONE day it went to 72 and back to the mid 50s. What was that all about? A little tease that made me want to go out and plant bulbs, that's what.
