Dreaming of Sloths

I have a site I go to when I have "one of those dreams." The Curious Dreamer has a dictionary of dreams that helps me understand the tangled mess off thoughts that spin around in my head at night! Sunday night's was a doozie! Maybe it was the fluffy rolls I had at dinner, or the popcorn that followed when Boardwalk was on at 8PM... whatever, my dream about being attacked by a sloth was just too weird!  I was  walking along when I noticed a sloth was trying to get into the crawl space of a house. In uncharacteristic manner the slow-as-molasses sloth sees me and at the speed of sound jumps on my back, at that point my dream turned to nightmareI proceeded to pinch his toes, the meanest thing I could think of in my deep sleep! Didn't make a bit of difference, that furry black spider-armed monster just kept squeezing tighter. Finally my pinching got to him and he jumped off. When he did, he said something to me that I can't remember. Probably words of wisdom that I'll need to live the rest of my life, or not! So, this is what the Dream Dictionary says about sloth dreams....

Slowness or steadiness. A sense of being relaxed or unhurried. Judging someone of being lazy. Dreaming of this animal can represent: Having too much of one of these qualities, or that you could benefit by being less this way. Not having enough of one of these qualities, or that you could benefit by being more like this. Someone or something in your real life with whom you associate one of these qualities (an event, situation, threat, etc.)

Makes sense, I had a lazy Sunday... and paid for it with a sloth dream! What the weirdest dream you've had lately?

  1. I hardly ever remember my dreams. Heck, I can hardly remember what goes on day to day!! I used to dream that I could fly. Or I have lots of dreams where I'm in a building, that always has secret passages, or more additions that go on and on, Wonder what that all means?

    1. Muffy, I used to have the flying dream... that means you are able to overcome your problems! And the secret passage way dream is when you are facing problems that seem impossible to solve... go to the Curious Dreamer website (link above) and they have a dream dictionary. Interesting!

  3. My dreams have calmed down a lot from when I was a child, from 6 until about 14 I would dream and sleep walk. Dad even put a lock high above both doors, a few of the times when it woke them up they said I just pulled up a chair and stood on it unlocked the door, put the chair back and walked out. The times that I did wake up I was just out in the yard but twice I woke up scared. once was in the corn field (you cant see the house) but luck would have it the moon was full so I had an idea where I was and the other time I woke up at one of the lower ponds from a dream of fishing with my grandma, my pole had fallen in the water and I was holding her hand to reach it, thats when I woke up. Thank goodness I dont do that anymore :)

    1. I can imagine that was scary for you and your parents. Our oldest grandson used to sleepwalk when he was little but has outgrown it too. Dreams can feel pretty real at times, that sloth dream creeped me out!
