Blogworthy Bears

A family that lives on the outskirts of Milford, PA in Pike County decided to build a sturdy, colorful playground for their 3 and 4 year old sons. They lined the bottom with smooth-stone gravel all around to avoid knee scrapes and other injuries.

They finished building it one Friday evening and were very pleased with the end product.

The following morning, the mom was about to wake up the boys and have them go out to play in their new play center. This is what she saw from the upstairs window:

This gives a whole new meaning to

"If you build it, they will come!"

* Thanks Stephanie for sending this!

  1. Oh wow!!!! This makes my little bears crossing the road seem almost obsolete or something!

    Love this!

  2. This is really funny - unless you're the folks who built this for their children :-).

  3. Oh my gosh that is hysterical. Good to know there are babies around. Also a good oppurtunity to teach the boys about nature. But, that is funny.

  4. What a kick! Isn't that just adorable ... TTFN~ Marydon

  5. Priceless, simply priceless...

  6. I love this story and photos Joy!! How cute!! I wonder if the bears allowed the kids to play on it after they took over??? Ha!

  7. What great photos. Thanks for sharing these.

  8. seems there are bears every where .I worry about my grandchildren and something like this happening while they are out there. We have had many in the last few years also.

  9. Poor thing, I'm sure the little one just staring at the newly built play ground with tears and joy, ha ha!! Well, did the bears go away by the end of the day?!

  10. Oh my gosh is that a true story?

It is way cool but at the same time kind of scary - You'd have to wonder if it was safe to send the kids out to play in the future.
