Every day my lunch is pretty much the same. Turkey on whole wheat. What if you could help Mother Earth just by doing something as simple as choosing the right bread? Lots of people are going green, doing their part to save energy, recycle and make decisions that will better the environment. EarthGrains® line of 100% Natural 24 oz. breads use "precision agriculture" to farm smarter. Soil fertility levels can vary greatly across a wheat field. Some areas need more nutrients, and some need less. Yet, most farmers apply the same amount of fertilizer to the entire field. Eco-Grain™ farmers use satellite imagery to help determine fertilizer requirements in any given area of the field. This way of farming helps apply precisely the right amount of fertilizer to maximize yield and grain quality, while protecting the environment.
It's small-scale right now – with just a handful of farms growing Eco-Grain™ wheat. EarthGrains Baking Companies use flour made with 20% Eco-Grain™ wheat, with a goal to increase that amount next year. Small steps can turn into BIG steps!
So, you have to eat lunch anyway...why not do Mother Nature a favor and support a movement that will benefit the Earth and us!

ReplyDeleteThat link was gone from their website when I went to check on it, I'm always a day late and a dollar short! Sorry readers!
ReplyDeleteHello Joycee, I eat EarthGrains...it's good bread but I especially like how they grow their grain. We have to start somewhere in thinking of the environment...this is a great start on their part and on ours! Your sandwich looks delishious by the way! Have a wonderful Thursday...Maura :)
ReplyDeleteFarida is baking her own bread (which is far better than store-bought, even EarthGrains. She and Jason are planting a humongous garden and are raising chickens. I wish I had before-and-after photos. What they've accomplished is amazing.
ReplyDeleteMost of this has happened because they watched Food Inc.
Wow! That's really cool to know. Thanks for sharing that information. Great post!!!!!!
