Pfishy Pedi

I was thinking we deserved a little pampering on Birthday Week so on Tuesday daughter Stephanie and I treated ourselves to a pedicure. By the time we got soaked, trimmed and polished... we were looking years younger, well at least our toes were! While we were setting there we were discussing our latest "Pins" and I remembered one that was a pedi treatment with shaving cream and toothpaste-- something weird like that! When I got home I logged onto Pinterest to see and I came across this new extreme pedicure using teeny tiny fish that make quick work of dead skin. They nibble you all the way to smooth and silky in no time! This salon in the D.C. area is the first to offer the fish tank/pedi spas, and customers were raving about what a good job the garra rufa did. "Best pedicure I've ever had" according to Tracy Roberts, a runner with callused feet.  If this does catch on, I'm probably going to be getting my own fish tank full of baby carp so that I can enjoy a pedicure anytime I want!

  1. Yes, I read that too. Funny thing, I got a pedi yesterday too!! I went a little crazy and chose an iridescent lime green color... a little funky but fun!!

  2. I have had a prof. Pedicure once. I usually do my own cause I'm cheap! Haha. I don't think I could let fish nibble on my dead skin! We sometimes swim in a pond.i hate it when the perch try to nibble at moles.

    1. I do mine most of the time too Lorilee, just treated ourselves since it was birthday week for both of us. My daughter was totally grossed out by the thought of fish nibbling on her skin... I can imagine it would do a great job!

  3. they did this in dallas - until the health dept. closed 'em down. seems the fish are not exactly 'sterile' when they go to 'clean' the next person.
