I think this is a pretty good one, and I've got it saved on my Cleaning Tips board on Pinterest. I spent a little while 3 hours last night pinning mostly recipes, my chosen addiction. Pinning has taken the place of thumbing through cookbooks or magazines when I watch tv at night. I am saving a fortune between the two! I'm officially an old dog now, but that doesn't mean I can't learn some new tricks. Thanks to Pinterest, there's hardly a week goes by that I'm not trying out a new tip.
Also, have you heard that marshmallows will soothe a sore throat? It's the gelatin in them that's the secret. So the next time the kids get a sore throat, just pull out the bag of marshmallows and let them have a few!
If summer bugs have you scratching like crazy, just paint some clear nail polish over the bite. Once oxygen is blocked, there's no more itch!
Stinky plastic containers? If you use yours to store onions like I do, they get that funky smell that's hard to wash away. Crumple up some newspaper and place inside, then put on the cover and in a few days the odor is gone! Works for crispers and old dresser drawers too.
Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz your way to a sparkling clean toilet in no time. Really!
Plain old French's mustard will take the pain away when you've burned your hand on a hot pan, this tip comes from Yahoo Health.
Finally, save yourself some $$$ and make your own wrinkle remover (sadly, it's for wrinkled clothes and won't work on worry lines on my face!) with fabic softener, vinegar and water. Full instructions are HERE.
I have an addictive personality. I could spend hours on Pinterest. But thanks for the household tips. I'm off to Hallmark to purchase some get well cards!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat did we ever do without Walmart rotisserie chicken and Pinterest???
DeleteThat Pinterest is very addictive!
ReplyDeleteLike everything else, I was slow to "drink the Koolaid!" Now, it's a daily stop for new recipes or tips. It's cured my addiction to cookbooks!
DeleteDid I just read to put Alka~seltzer in the toilet?...:)JP
ReplyDeleteThat's what they said... so what does it do to our stomach???
DeleteGuuurl, you are "in the know" today.
ReplyDeleteMustard on a burn? That's new to me
and a great tip.
I did a little googling and sure enough, it's a recognized remedy for minor burns! I burn myself on hot pans enough that I'll have a chance to try it out soon...
DeleteThese are all great ideas! I'll have to file them away to remember them. The bug bite one is important for our time at the lake.
ReplyDeleteI'm a magnet for mosquitoes! Definitely going to try out this one.
