Slow Start...

I had a little bit of trouble crawling out of bed this morning. I don't know if it's all of the extra things I did over the holidays or I'm just getting old! Probably the latter. At 57 I'm grateful I feel good most of the time. We eat a pretty healthy diet, try to get extra rest when we can and do our best on the weekends to have "down time." You know, that time you can call your own to relax and recharge. If you are young, raising children you will not recognize this activity. It's not in your vocabulary.
Down time, me time...WHAT'S THAT???
My daughters are part of that group, going like the Energizer Bunny from morning till night. Never a day off. I remember that stage of my life.
I should have oodles of time to read or knit or whatever I want to do. But oddly enough, there still aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. I don't budget my time like I used to. But I am a little smarter...a dusty table doesn't get me all riled up anymore. Hey, what's a little dust? Down time, if you are lucky enough to have it, use it!

  1. Love this picture, LOL!
My house is like a three ring circus some days, but you know the older I get, the less the dust bothers me too!! I'm just now beginning to learn to slow down and enjoy!!
    Have a peaceful relaxing Sunday!

  2. Sounds good to me...I have always been able to leave the dishes in the sink until the next morning...guess what...they are still there! As my grandmother always said..."Why clean? It is just going to get dirty again"! Smart woman....

  3. I love that picture! I'm having a slow start too. I think it was all of the champagne and wine we had.

  5. If we live in the country, as we do, we should not *have* to worry about dust . . . and I don't. I wipe it away about once a month, if I think about it.

Can also relate to the problem of time budgeting. I seem to have lost all ability to do that when I stopped working fulltime last May.

    Enjoy your day!

  6. I used to be the energiser bunny but I can't do it anymore.

I still work 12 hours a day ...but in between a tend to collapse!

I've had a lovely break ...a couple of weeks off, and I did hardly anything at all but relax in the summer heat.
