This cold, crisp morning as I gazed out across the lake...I see my little friend Mr. Squirrel has crawled INTO the "Squirrel Proof" birdfeeder! This is the young one that I've been feeding vanilla wafers this fall. He's a cutie and will set on the deck and beg just like a puppy. I can't believe he was small enough to squeeze through that little hole, but I did see a big Cardinal in there last winter and I thought it would be trapped for sure. The way he was eating this morning, it won't be long before he cannot do this magic trick...he will be too fat! For now he's at the GrannyMountain Buffet, kids under 5 FREE!
Well, I must admit that's a cute picture, but I just can't have any sympathy for squirrels right now. They were clawing away in our walls last night. Sigh!
ReplyDeleteOh my...those squirrels are stinkers!

Oh my gosh that is hysterical!! Just when you think it's full proof along comes a child or small animal to prove it wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteStop by for a chance to win a stocking or give it as a gift. Hugs. Tammy
I haven't found a squirrel proof bird feeder yet. Oh well, they are hungry too. Mine look through the windows at me as if to say, what are you doing?
ReplyDeleteThis is just so dear! I really love these photos and you for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeletehe thinks you have built him a beautiful resturant..and you have! So very cute! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeletehow cute is that. i hope he can get himself out!
ReplyDeleteOh please oh please catch that squirrel and mail it to me....LOL. I've always wanted a pet squirrel. Out here in the cornfields of Indiana, I've no squirrels. :-(
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI went through a couple of squirrel proof birdfeeders before I found one that really works. It closes each opening with the weight of a squirrel, but not the birds. Have been using it for several years now!
So did he get out okay?
ReplyDeletehahaha.... yes indeed it's a free buffet for that little thing!
ReplyDeleteMr. Squirrel is alive and well, he didn't have a bit of trouble slipping out of the bird feeder hole! But the way he was eating, it won't be long and his big tummy won't fit through! It's a love/hate relationship we have with the messy little squirrels but the seed is there for anyone who stops by the buffet!
