Lovely Wreath...

Beautiful wreaths, welcoming guests to a home in Slidell, La. These pictures were sent yesterday by Hubby to warn me about the dangers of hanging wreaths in the country. I love a natural looking wreath since we live in the woods. More than once I've found the birds have made a nest or the squirrels have hidden acorns in the wreath. But never this...

Can you imagine the sheer terror that you would have if you had your arms full, ready to leave on errands and you happened to notice a snake had crawled up into your wreath???

Almost hidden, he blends so well...

I can't tell if this snake is dead or alive, I just know I wouldn't have survived the incident!!!

  1. We would be pretty safe from snakes in our area....too cold!

But if you used fruit, say apples, you might get a visit from a bear

  8. Snakes~!~! I get them every February in my basement crawl space.. I will only pick them up with kitchen tongs...I have no snakes right now because I have mice..If I have no mice, I KNOW I have snakes.. Oh the rewards of living in the country and in a old farm house.

  9. My engineer husband would have sent me this too! Wreaths that attract snakes would definitely be a no no for us! That would scare me half to deah. Love your background -- I chose this too. Joni

  10. My gosh! NOT what I was expecting... I was thinking a squirrel or perhaps a bird's nest. Whoa, was this a surprise. I don't think I'd be able to use that door again!!!
