Simple and Sweet

~Illustrations by Susan Branch~
I'm glad there's a list to follow with directions clear and plain how to improve the quality of my life. Daddy always called such things "Horse Sense," but sometimes when it's down in BLACK & WHITE we pay attention!

It's 5 sleeps, 15 hours and 38 minutes until Christmas Eve and all across the world we are planning our menus. Susan Branch cookbooks are among my favorites simply for the art alone, but her outlook on life lifts me up! She remains a child in her heart even though the outside is all grown up and in my case...may be getting a little wrinkly!

Her Christmas cookbook is my favorite, chocked to the brim with glad tidings and happy memories...it's a primer on how to have Happy Holidays. Recipes galore, I'm hard pressed to say there is a favorite but maybe this one...

Simple and sweet, it makes you smile! No matter what you make this week, if it's someone's favorite then you are following Susan's rules...
From the Heart!

  7. Your mention of how many sleeps till Christmas jogged a memory of my sister and her girls when they were little. They had a hard time understanding "time". So when they would ask how long it would be till some occasion, she would tell them how many "sleeps". I thought that was such a sweet way of dealing with the situation that I did it with my kids too, and my grandsons as well. They were always happy to go to bed because that would be another "sleep" closer to the occasion.

Good book review. I'll have to look into those... Hugs, Ilene
