Hey out there, anyone thinking about winter except me? Last winter was a booger, xtra cold and snow so deep I was forced to stay in my hole in the tree for days on end. Just to be on the safe side, I need to double my weight before the first snowflake falls.
The nice lady put out this new feeder for us this week but it has design faults. It has a screen that makes it hard as the dickens to get big handfuls/mouthfuls of sunflower seeds, they are my favorite and I can eat and eat and eat and never get full. I tried to remove the screen by myself and before I knew it, the whole shebang went divebombing to the ground. Lucky for me I think quick and jumped on a tree branch on the way down.
It wasn't long before they noticed my dinner plate was gone and they picked it up. Doggone if they didn't put it back together wrong again!
ha ha! when are those humans ever going to do it right?! :)
ReplyDeleteBe willing to bet he figures it out before long!
ReplyDeleteThese little racal shorts are so smart ~! I loved the pictures and the story that goes with this little pig..
ReplyDeleteIf one feeds the birds squirrels come right along side to feed too. This is so cute~!
ta ta for now from Iowa:)
If I had all the money I've spent on "squirrel proof" feeders, we'd be rich! I hate to admit I like watching them almost as much as the birds...if they just wouldn't eat ALL of the seeds!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about enjoying those little stinkers, but shoot! the birds hardly get anything they have such ravenous appetites. We got the feeder you suggested ... today the little fella was hanging upside down off it & then pulling himself up, taking a paw (?) full then hanging down & eating. This went on fo ra good while ... chuckles.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful holiday ~
TTFN ~

Marydon
I love to watch squirrels around here. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteI agree..if they would just take their fair share!...Everybody has to eat but please!!!...lol..
ReplyDeleteSuch great pics and a cute story too! Have a wonderful Labor Day!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of that little rascal.
ReplyDeleteThey chewed the plastic top off one of our bird feeders to get to the seed.
I don't deliberately feed them!
I'm with Ms. A--I have a feeling he's not going to go hungry at all, and will figure this out!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you've had a great weekend!!
I remember those days when our dogs would go crazy because there was a squirrel in our backyard. Since we moved to the country we have so few trees on our place that there's not a squirrel to be found. I think our Yorkies miss the little guys.
ReplyDeleteIf we could ONLY be as adept as those furry squirrels!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteHey little bushybottom, you need to head on over to Hopalong Hollow and fill your pack with Black Walnuts. Come one come all! There is plenty to go around and a walnuts makes a much bigger meal than a sunflower seed!
