When I was a kid I would fill the hole in my mashed potatoes with English peas. They had to be the LeSeur brandy tiny peas. A typical Sunday meal would be fried chicken, mashed potatoes and English peas. Can't believe my mother would come home from church and fry chicken. Those were the days.
Hello Joycee...Oh Ya! On Sundays my English Nana would make roast beef Yorkshire puddings mashed potatoes and usually peas and I would ALWAYS make a hole in my potatoes for the delicious gravy she made. Somehow it always tasted even better that way. Oh my did you bring back some wonderful memories! Enjoy your weekend....Maura :)
We love mashed potatoes and gravy at our house. Back when my daughter was little she could eat her weight in them. She probably still could but restrains herself.
